Being the mom to 3 boys, I have learned cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.

Happy 4th Birthday Luke!

Luke is 4 years old today.  Where has the time gone?  Unfortunately, as I type this post, my birthday boy is asleep on the couch.  He is trying to sleep off a fever....on his birthday.  Poor guy.  Luckily, we opened presents this morning before school but with the way he is acting (and not eating today), I don't know if he will feel up to the cake or not.

Happy Birthday Luker.  We love you.

Luke's 4th Birthday

We had the first of many birthday parties for Luke today.  He wanted a football cake and I think I did pretty good.  I thanked him for choosing something easier this year!

Ding Dong the Snow is GONE!

Not really..but very close.  Just the really huge piles in paking lots is all that is left.  It was over 70 degrees yesterday and today is close to the same.  I know it won't last, but it sure is nice and you can tell in everyone's mood that the weather is changing.

I nearly made myself sick today.  I website I visit for baby gear type things runs daily "deals".  I checked it today and they had a Britax Chaperone infant seat (reg $190) and it was down to $80!  I quickly put it in my cart and had 3 credit numbers left to enter and when I got the message that it was now sold out.  I went from so excited to disgusted in about 19 seconds.  I'm hoping I catch another deal like that in the up coming months.

Random

It is finally "warm" today.  Sadly, I'm call 35 degrees warm.  We are going to get the boys snow pants on soon and possibly (hopefully for me) go sledding for the last time this winter.  The rest of the week is suppose to get gradually warmer - all the way to a possible 60 degrees by next weekend!

We had our follow-up home study visit last weekend.  She said it would be about 2-3 wks before the report is finalized.

The birth mother, H, is now going in for cervix measurements every 2 wks.  All looks great right now - this is just  precautionary because of her history of pre-term labor.  Her next appointment is in March and I think that is the big anatomy ultrasound.  Mark has said he doesn't want to find out the gender and I'm still undecided.  Dominic says he wants to know too!

Dominic and I finished his Valentine Day box for school.  He originally wanted a green/yellow tractor, but I said we could do a red and white one for Valentines Day.  It turned out cute - one I'm hoping to save and use in the future if it makes it back from school in one piece.

Later today we are going to make valentines sugar cookies for the school parties.  Then my next project will be Luke's Football Birthday cake for next week!  I can't believe my baby boy is going to be 4 years old already.

Luke Sledding

Sledding Fun

We built a snow ramp for the kids in the backyard.  It really helps them get going fast down the hill in our backyard.  Luckily, there is a big pile of snow from the plow at the bottom so they can't go on the road below.

Miss A's Snow Day

Miss A had her very first play day in the snow.  She really didn't know what to think of it.

This was Miss A's first impression of the snow!  Not a good start.
Miss A and I did get a great self photo today!  Our blue eyes sure are shining bright today.
Miss A hated her mittens of course.  Good thing it wasn't that cold today.  Here she was helping Mark shovel.
The boys are making an entire tunnel system through all the piles.  They have been warned not to play in them when we are not right there with them.
We still can't believe just how much snow we have.  We had not gotten the mail in nearly a week because the mailman couldn't get our box.  It took Mark almost 1 hour to dig the street out enough so the mailman would get us our mail today.
Our backyard is a giant hill.  It really isn't our yard - but the empty lots behind us.  Dominic and I built a snow ramp so they can sled without any help.

The Blizzard of 2011

We ended up with between15-20 inches of snow this past week.  Crazy!
