Being the mom to 3 boys, I have learned cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.

All Things June 2013

Welcome to the June 2013 Update!

Rec League baseball is officially over for the season.  Now tournament ball begins.  That's right....Dominic has been invited to play on a traveling baseball team.  The boys ended their season well - Luke so much more improved from the beginning of the season.

Dominic at bat.

The boys received their medals.  Once again, Whitney-Harrison was their sponsor.  Who  else?

Isaac was allowed to finally run the bases after the game.  He was thrilled.

Dominic's traveling team jersey.

We took a nice little vacation back to Michigan to visit with Isaac's birth family.  We also spent a few days with our wonderful friends that took us in for those few first few weeks.  We had a great visit with everyone. Please note that most of the pictures are of Isaac.  That is because the older boys just run off anymore.....

Fishing in the Detroit River.

We visited the Toledo Zoo while in the Detroit area.  It is a nice little zoo.

We went to a couple of beaches on the west coast of Michigan.  Isaac loves digging in the sand.

Gotta love a kid that can wear sand and cheetos at the same time.

House update - we currently have a foundation.  They are supposed to do the flat concrete work this coming week.  I'm starting to work on getting some of the finishes narrowed down to my top 2-3 choices then I will show those to Mark.  Because the hole kept collapsing as they dug, we are not going to be able to have a concrete patio.  Instead we will need to build a ground level deck.  These are just some minor set-backs /changes and I'm sure there will be more.

Baby Update - I'm now 36 weeks 2 days.  I'm huge....at least I feel like I am.  Mark thinks the baby has now dropped.  Of course my OB is going out of town for the next 2 weeks.....hoping I can remain pregnant until he gets back.  Mark is placing bets that I don't.  We FINALLY have names for both a girl or a boy.  A girl will be Delaney Nicole (same as always) and a boy will be Jonah William (Dominic and Luke came up with our boy name).

Baseball 2013

Baseball season is in full "swing".   The boys are both doing wonderful.  The only reason people realize Luke is younger is because he is the one of the smallest boys on the team....has nothing to do with playing ability because he is definitely holding his own.  He nearly caught 2 pop ups the other night (ball bounced out of his glove) but then he did catch a hard hit line drive while he was playing 2nd base.  This did wonders for his confidence level.  Dominic continues to play heads up ball - hitting a fielding very well.  I don't think he will have any issues playing next year in 9-10yr league.  Dominic will be attending a baseball camp next week with the high school coach.

Baby and House Updates

I'm currently 31 weeks.  All is well with both baby and me.  I've reached the point in my pregnancy that I'm exhausted once again.  All I want to do sleep and seems like there isn't enough time to sleep like I want too!
We are scheduling the c-section soon.  If I would go into labor on my own before that date, I will have an emergency c-section.

We are trying to get things ready.  Having a garage sale in a couple of weeks will help clear out the downstairs bedroom.  We are going to visit Isaac's birth family soon too and after we get back, Isaac will move in with Luke and share the bunk bed (Luke on top of course).  Dominic will move back into his old room and the baby will share with us until we move.  So far the only person excited about this plan is Dominic.

The house...well we have a giant hole in the ground that unfortunately could be used as a swimming pool right now.  The cement could not be poured last week because the walls kept collapsing.  Once they finally got the walls supported, it started raining, and raining, and raining.  Wonderful.  I'm sure this is just going to be the first of many set-backs.

I'm still hopeful that we will be moving by Halloween.  Mark says Christmas.  I will be thrilled with anything before Thanksgiving.

Photo Bomb Update

This is going to be a photo bomb update of things that have been going on with us lately.

First up is Dominic's 1st Communion.  We had some professional pictures taken and some from the actual day.  While I was watching Dominic get this pictures taken, I nearly cried (thanks pregnancy hormones) because I blinked and this kiddo of mine grew up.  Gone is the baby, toddler, and little boy.  He is being replaced by a very handsome young man.

Dominic had his 2nd grade field day too.  He qualified for the finals in 4 out of 5 events and placed 2nd in the sack race!  Go Dominic!

Mother's Day was wonderful.  We went to the St. Louis Zoo with my sister and her family and our mom.  It was great weather wise so no complaints on the heat.

This are the types of group shots I get now....Isaac is now the kid that doesn't cooperate!

Isaac - 22M old

Luke - 6 yrs old

Dominic - 8 yrs old

Luke being disgusted by the stingray food!

We also visited Legoland in Kansas City one day the kids were off school.
