Being the mom to 3 boys, I have learned cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.

Appointment #1 Complete

Met with the RE that will be doing my FET on Monday. I had a mycroplasm screening done. This doctor is interested in women who have failed so many fresh ET in the past - like me. I guess this bacteria can be a contributing factor and we will know the results in 2 weeks. I don't feel this is the issue, but we will see.

I had some questions for him as well. I asked how many c-sections are considered safe. He said as many as I want! Typically most women don't have more than 5 - because they already have 5 children and are done. He did stress that if I would become pregnant with twins this time, that I need to make sure I find an OB that is willing to schedule the c-section for 36wks and no later. This is primarily because I have had 2 previous c-sections and I have a history of making large babies.

I also asked if my low breast milk supply was related to my IF. He said probably not. He said that some women can feed all the world's babies, while others can not.

We did get great news - he said we could fly home after the FET. We are excited about this prospect but it will depend on the time of the FET and trying to work that around the flight schedule. Depending on their surgical schedule for that day, we could be doing the FET as early as 6am or as late as 10am.

The boys are very excited. Luke keeps dancing around saying "I can't wait for my babies to be here!" Both he and Dominic are pretty sure we will have twins this time because Dominic is still hopeful for his baby sister and Luke desperately wants "a different brother". While we hate to crush their enthusiasm, we do remind them that these baby seeds may go to heaven as well.

Still taking the Lupron - the headaches are managable but there as a reminder. I start Estrace tomorrow.

We love the Park!

We headed to the park this morning because there was rain in the forcast for this afternoon. By the time we arrived at the park, it was a cloudless warm morning! Good thing I brought a bottle of water with us because the boys ended up being very thristy and sweaty.

I love being a mom!

Last night, I was once again grateful for the 2 miracles God has granted me with...my 2 wonderful boys. As I was tucking in Luke for the night, Dominic snuck in and laid at the foot of the bed. He said he wanted to listen to the songs.

From Dominic's first night in my arms, I have sung to my children. I don't pretend I could win American Idol, but I do think I can carry a tune (and my kids think I'm wonderful!). So I have been singing the same set of songs every night for more than 5.5 years with nothing more than a smile in return from my children (which is enough).

Something happened last night and I could hardly contain my tears. As I started singing, both of my boys sang with me! I had the biggest smile on my face and in my heart. After both boys were in bed, I came into our room with tears on my cheeks. Mark said he heard the boys singing too.....but of course thinks I'm being a silly woman with raging hormones since it brought me to tears! Men.....I can't explain it......its just part of being a Mom.

FET is Underway!

Took my first Lupron injection last night. Now I feel our FET is officially getting starting. It won't be long now until we can celebrate the hopeful homecoming of 2 of our embryos. Dominic, Luke, and I are all still wishing for twins. Dominic really wants a sister and Luke is still praying for a brother. I just want babies! Mark is still hesitant about twins......

First Baseball Game!

Dominic did have his first (and cold) baseball game today. He did great and I'm still smiling because of how proud I am of him today. We started the morning off with tears about not wanting to go to the game, to putting on the uniform (including the hat) and took the field with a smile on his face.
Here he is after his 1st at bat standing (a single) on 3rd base.

This was Dominic's 2nd at bat. He was 2 for 2!!!!

And finally a great smiling picture in the dugout. Yes, I'm that mom that has to go into the dugout to take a picture!

Dominic is Growing Up

Yesterday was the last day of preschool! Dominic is officially a kindergartner now. Hard to believe that in less than 90 days he will be in school all day, every day.

Dominic is also playing baseball this summer. So far he is participating well at practices - even without Mark being on the field (another sign he is growing up!). He is supposed to have his first game this Saturday - but we will see with the weather.

Dominic woke up in the middle of the night not feeling well. He was running a fever and is congested. I think he has gotten a cold from somewhere. He told me that it was a good thing that yesterday was the last day of school because he wouldn't be able to go today. He also commented that he must not have washed his hands good enough yesterday since he got sick!

It has been a very wet and chilly spring. We are really hoping that the sun decides to show itself soon!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. We spent the weekend in Kansas City with my mom. We took the boys to a Dinosaur exhibit and IMAX movie - which they LOVED! At Mass that evening, the priest said a special prayer for mothers of all kinds. He included women that grieve every Mother's Day since they still have empty arms. That one had tears rolling down my face!

We capped off the weekend with a womens only 5K walk/run. It was tons of fun. My mother, sister, niece, mother-in-law, 6 of my sister-in-laws, and several nieces on that side all participated. We thought next year we needed to all dress the same.....One niece took 3rd in her age group and one sister in law took 2nd in hers! The majority of us just walked.

I got to wear a tiara and #1 MOM button all day!
